Our NOT Garage Sale

So we have been needing to clean our garage out for a little while now. Not only was there bins and tool drawers that need to be cleaned out, but our bins didn't match our decor. If you me, you know I am a little OCD with stuff matching, organizing and cleaning. It bugged me every time I pulled into the garage, so I finally bought matching bins and a matching cabinet for all the tools. So this was the weekend we tackled the daunting task. We started by taking everything out of the garage, and I guess we have some pretty good stuff because we began to immediately be bombarded with people getting out of there car to shop from our stuff. Before we could even say "Not a garage sale," people already had there kids out of the car heading towards our stuff. After having to say "Not a garage sale" over a dozen times in less than 10 minutes I came up with a plan... PUT UP A SIGN. We quickly learned we had written it the wrong language, so we called a friend and got our sign translated. It helped some but we still had to stop some shoppers. We also gave our neighbors a good laugh with the sign.

Our final results... an organized, matching garage!

Labels make me happy! :)

  1. I've actually stopped at a "not a garage sale" before. You have to admit it did look like a good one!

  2. seriously, the more i learn about you the more i realize how alike we are.
first of all, i LOVE labels and matching decor and organizing...the works.
secondly, this is exactly what my garage needs. i've told todd over and over that we need to "clean sweep" the garage and he won't let me do it. so it keeps getting worse and things are piling up.
good to know there is hope and it can be done.
