2011 IS NOT MY YEAR

Hopefully this post will be therapeutic as the events of this post are still pretty raw emotionally...

This is my driver's side window.
Yep, nothing but busted glass and heartache.

We had the pleasure of being robbed today. Nothing like feeling stripped of all security. I am grateful it was only my car and not my house, but it still SUCKS!

We walked out to the car after Carsten's football game and discovered someone really liked my cheap Target purse and they just had to have it! We found the car window smashed and my purse that had been kinda hidden in the backseat gone. While Eli called the cops, I comforted Carsten and Caitlin and got them to stop crying. I then discovered I had lost my phone somewhere at the field so Eli ran to find it. I was doing good till this point...calm, cool, just focused. I sent the kids to some shade a little distance away and the tears started.

The cop finally arrived and we started filling out the report. I realized my spare key to the house was in the purse and they had my address off my checks, and Carissa was home. Panic began. Eli immediately called to check on her and I made the cop wait till I could call someone to get her. It felt like I called a million people, I probably called 20, but NO ONE answer! I called everyone again! Nothing! I finally called KIM HULSE (thank you Kim) and she answered first time. I am surprised she could even understand me I was so emotional at this point. She immediately went and got Carissa and I felt a little sane again.

We finished with the cop and I spent the next 4+ hours canceling EVERYTHING! We went straight to the bank and luckily my branch was open and so we were able to close all accounts. The craziest thing to me is how difficult it is to get through to cancel a credit card. A few of the cards I called wanted my credit card number to even get passed the first menu. The only thing I could do is yell "IF I HAD THE NUMBER I WOULDN'T BE CALLING TO REPORT IT STOLEN." To top it off, after finally getting a person on the phone and canceling the cards, they would then proceed to try and sell me something or ask irrelevant questions. Seriously! Is now really an appropriate time!

So now I get to spend the next who-knows-how-long fixing the mess of having my wallet stolen and praying they don't try and screw up my credit. Yes, everything is canceled and credit bureaus have been out on fraud alert.

These pix are after we drove home and Eli had taken out as much as he could so he could drive.
I did think the broken glass was pretty.

My poor car!

Eli is replacing locks on the house right now. Hoping I can sleep tonight, and yes I will be taking something strong to knock me out so don't expect to see me at 9 AM church in the morning!

I can honestly say I am ready for this year to be over.

Carsten Football

After years of begging, I finally gave in and let Carsten play football.

*Carsten is in the white helmet, red #26 jersey and black pants*

Carsten LOVES football.

I am amazed at how much energy he has.

This is my favorite picture so far.

First Day of School 2011

Hard to believe it is time for school to start, did the summer just begin!?!

The kids were super excited to start school. Mom was too, but not so excited about the early mornings.

Caitlin and her first grade teacher, Ms. Easton (love her)

Carsten and his forth grade teacher, Ms. Johnson

Carissa going to sixth grade... no picture with her teacher... just me sending her into the unknown :(

Carissa had her personal hair and make up girl (my sis Corie) to help her get ready this morning! Thanks for helping with Carissa's first day Corie!

Still Loves Her Bike

I could not resist buying this shirt for Caitlin after her ordeal in May (here).
